Sorry for the delay of this letter, turns out, getting Stony Lake gear was more intensive than imagined… 

Stony Lake Association Meeting, June 6th, 2026 

   1    Water testing-thanks to Mark Wruck and Mark Rauchbauer for helping with water testing. Results coming soon at: MN DNR Lake Finder, under Find a Lake-put in Stony, under County-Cass, get lake data-scroll under Stony-water clarity/full report. 

   2    Current Balance  approx. $10,000 with 2026 paid expenses(ACCL, AIS lids) yet to be paid-post office, water testing, mailings of letters 

   3    Fish stocking-DNR released walleye fry this Spring. They release every 2 years. DNR will not allow additional stocking for 2026. We are trying to raise enough money to add fry or  

fingerlings 2027-28. The cost for 179# of fingerlings is  roughly $6000-$7000. 

   4    The DNR did a fish survey of Stony Lake, the week of June 8th. They spent 3 days on the lake setting traps for fish, waiting for full results. This will also be posted on the lake survey report on MN DNR Lake Finder. 

   5    WE ARE IN NEED OF DUES and DONATIONS if we are going to afford fish stocking and to keep this lake clean, we are trying to prevent AIS. Please pay dues at $30.00/year. Don’t forget- we are a 501C3 non profit charitable organization if you choose to donate more!    6    July 4th Boat/pontoon Parade- Saturday July 4th, meet at the narrows at 1pm. 

   7    Stony Lake Potluck Picnic-August 8th at 4 pm at Lewie and Judy Schrupp’s home,  

             4138 N Stony Dr NW. Bring something to share for potluck and own yourbeverages. 

   8    Stony Lake Wear!- We are starting with 2 logos, this is a work in progress, looking for future

Geared Up Apparel (out of Elk River) 

The way this is going to work is a “store” will be open for a few weeks only. Get your orders in at that time. You will be able to order and pay on line. A small upcharge will be included in the price to fundraise for the association. If this goes over well, we would like to order on a quarterly basis for this first year to see how it goes over, who doesn’t need new clothes as the season changes??? 

They are working hard to get the store open, a post will be on facebook and the website once open for orders.

Val Anderson has offered to pick up the order and orders can be picked up at 3879 N Stony Dr NW,  we will figure out details of that later…
